Nell Continues to Impress
England’s international Page Turner Awards competition announced today that The Private Misadventures of Nell Nobody is a finalist in the Book Award category, and has advanced to the longlist! It made the finals last year in the Writing Award category, before it was a published book. A new panel of judges has decided to advance it in this year’s competition, so I can now claim that it has been a finalist two years’ running.
The book has also been named to the longlist for the Chanticleer Book Review’s Goethe Award for Historical Fiction.
Thank you to the judges for this mark of their esteem, and to everyone who has read the book and complemented it. I would (probably) write even without the positive reinforcement, but it makes me feel good that people seem to like Nell and her mentor, Horatio Nelson.
